Murphy makes Aston Villa loan switch
Lily Murphy, a product of Manchester City Academy, has joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan in the Barclays Women’s Super League. The England youth international made her debut for City in September 2024, scoring her first professional goal in December of the same year. She appeared in 22 matches during the 2024-2025 season, but faced an injury at the start of the subsequent season. Despite this setback, Murphy contributed to the team's double-winning campaign in 2025/26 with limited appearances. Her development is expected to continue at Aston Villa, who finished ninth in the WSL last season.
