Aston Villa is close to signing PSG defender Illya Zabarnyi on a loan-to-buy deal worth £42.5 million. The 23-year-old has seen limited game time at Paris Saint-Germain due to competition from teammates Marquinhos and Willian Pacho. After starting just one match this season and sitting out PSG's opening Ligue 1 fixtures, Zabarnyi is expected to fill the gap left by Ezri Konsa's departure to Arsenal. This deal involves a mandatory purchase option, likely reflecting the player's fluctuating presence in the squad last season. Aston Villa, having finished fourth in the Premier League last season, is poised for Champions League participation.
